Extras: Stepback Art
Would you like to see a painting of the hero and heroine of this book? Almost all of Eloisa's novels feature a second "cover" either on the back cover, or inside the front cover. In the publishing industry, this is called a "Stepback" and some of Eloisa's are just stunning. It's interesting to see how the style of painting has changed over the years, too!

Eloisa adores the stepbacks in her earlier books, so she seized the opportunity to ask a wonderful young artist, Salma, to paint a stepback for Hardly a Gentleman. Salma created this lovely, tender oil painting of her favorite scene in a library.
